Birds: Philly’s Innovators in Ornithology & Odd Modern-Day Dinosaurs
May 1, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$15
Did you know that Philadelphia is the “Cradle of American Ornithology”? George Armistead – accomplished, professional birder and author – will introduce us to the cast of characters who pioneered this unique area of study, virtually all of whom hail from Philly. He’ll also take us on a tour of “strangeness”, examining the world’s most unusual birds, where they reside, what they do and why they’re different!
George is also known for his beautiful photographs of birds (as shown here!). Find out where he birds, and the best spots in Philly for great pictures! And, he’ll have copies of his book, Birds of Pennsylvania, available for purchase ($20) and signing.
Beer and Wine included.
Join George and GEO in the salon at Space & Company, for birds, discussion, and drinks.
