In-person narration, live and on stage, adds excitement and immediacy to every show. Hear firsthand accounts of speakers’ adventures as they take you with them for in-depth views of unique places and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Meet them at intermission and after the show. Enjoy knowing some of the most seasoned travelers on the globe.

Location and Transportation
The Academy of Natural Sciences is on Logan Circle at 19th St. and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, next to the Four Seasons Hotel. It is a short walk from Rittenhouse Square and Suburban Station. The Center City PHLASH bus and SEPTA routes 32, 33, 38 and 76 serve Logan Circle. Driving times are about 20 minutes from Bryn Mawr, Chestnut Hill, or Haddonfield to the nearby Vine St. Expressway exit.
Excellent Parking
There is ample street meter parking in the Parkway area – many allow 3 to 12 hours. After 5:00 PM, meters are free on Wednesdays (except on posted rush hour streets, where they are free after 6:30). Adjacent lots and garages have reduced evening rates. Series members will receive a Parking/Dining Map showing these parking locations and information on area restaurants.
Convenient Dining Before the Show
Nearby restaurants include Asia on the Parkway, the Four Seasons Hotel, TGI Friday’s, Peacock on the Parkway, Mace’s Crossing, Mexican Post, Public House, Mission Grill, and Aya’s Cafe. The Academy’s Ecology Cafe is open for lunch – show your film ticket for a 10% discount.

ROAD TO MANDALAY-MYANMAR and ANGKOR WAT

One of the most mysterious destinations on the planet—Myanmar (formerly Burma) is a land of breathtaking beauty. See spectacular monuments, golden pagodas, and ancient cities, and travel “the road to Mandalay,” the nation’s principal city. In Cambodia, the capital Phnom Penh has colonial-era French architecture and wide boulevards. A side trip explores Angkor Wat and other astonishing temples at this World Heritage Site.
