Geographical Society of Philadelphia

Annual Dinner 2016

Where:Feast Your Eyes, 1750 North Front Street, Philadelphia

Since 1930, no explorer has traversed the parched and deadly Arabian Desert. The first to be granted permission is Mark Evans, who tells a story of survival on a 1300-km journey across the largest desert in the world through Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Withstanding desert storms, zero degree temperatures, and beating rain, with no shelter, he persevered on foot for 49 days. Come hear Mark Evans’ unforgettable tale. You won’t want to miss this.

The evening will feature Mark Evans presentation with visual clips of his journey followed by the Annual Dinner, where the Society continues the legacy of honoring the greatest of world explorers. Feast Your Eyes will create an Arabian feast.
